There are 25 years since the beginning of Madeicávado – Madeiras, Lda. In September 1985, four entrepreneurs: Francisco Mirante with Fernando Lourenço, Fernando Vieira and António Paulino started in Braga, a business project whose main activity was the wholesale of wood and based-wood products.

Fifteen years later, in early 2000, Madeicávado becomes an Anonymous Society, and the sons of the shareholders start to integrate the board of Administration of the group. At this time, Armindo Mirante, son of the founder, took over the management of the company, paper that would consolidate in 2003 holding the majority of the social capital of Madeicávado, SA.

Later, in October 2007, Vitor Neves and Diogo Ribeiro takeover the administration of the company acquiring the majority of social capital.

The arrival of new shareholders meant the restart of a business project with national dimension and with a journey of more than twenty years in wood and wood-based products distribution business.

Keeping a proximity policy with their public target, the Group continues with a strong commitment to quality, continuous improvement and innovation. All this with the thought on the client and using the most modern and strict management practices and technologies.

The year 2010 represents a further step on group’s evolution. The new name, Tecniwood-Madeicávado group, intends to transmit modernity and universality. The constant reinvention of new goals and targets in order to achieve it renewed mission.

With Headquarters in Braga, the Group has facilities in Póvoa de Varzim, Alenquer and Lisbon, in a covered area of more than 25 thousand square meters. Will soon be also in Leiria and reinforce it presence in Lisbon Metropolitan area and in Algarve.

The Tecniwood-Madeicávado group is dedicated to two main areas of business, in sector wood and wood-based products.

The Tecniwood-solutions, until 2009 called Damadeira, is the specialized company in the distribution of wood and wood-based products. With a strong qualified team of technical and professional commercials, the company owns a fleet of distribution and the most advanced technologies in terms of logistics and communication.

The Tecniwood-solutions integrates two different business units: Tecniwood-Flooring and Tecniwood industry.

The Tecniwood-projects is the company of the group dedicated to advise, project and building in wood and wood-based products. The company emerged in 2002 with the purpose of following the changes suffered by the civil construction market during last years: which projects build; and what was build was projected by Tecniwood.

Wood structures, HPL coatings, acoustics and rehabilitation are the major interventions areas of the company, which consolidates it the positions regarding the emerging segments of rehabilitation and renewal.

The Tecniwood group takes a professional and ethical management, with trained human resources, motivated and with strong guidance for the effective given services. Currently, the group is composed of more than 100 contributors, with an average age of between 35 and 38 years, of which more than 25 percent have higher education.

The demand for constant improvement has made that Tecniwood-Madeicávado group was distinguished in 2007 with the status of PME lead from the Institute for support of small and medium-sized enterprises and to innovation (IAPMEI). The company also holds quality certification under ISO 9001.

The Tecniwood group has also been joining a set of institutions as the AIMMP, APCMC, ACEGE, ACB and AIMinho.

Besides the investment in people, the Tecniwood-Madeicávado Group bets in research and development, having created a core that has as goal to promote the introduction of new solutions and products.
